It can be used in a children's learning situation, such as Home School, Language Club, Self-study, classroom, or ESL (English as a second language) class. Use it when kids need a quiet activity. You can come up with games like concentration or string the flashcards together to make sentences. You can use them with another person and practice the words with a timer.

ABOUT ME

I am an old common worker with no special trade, but I have lately developed an interest in languages. However, at my age, it is hard to learn new things. So, I began to look for creative ways to add to my learning process. So, I made these flashcards to help my old brain along.

If I take a few minutes each day and just review these flashcards by reading the words aloud and trying to say them in a practice sentence, it helps me retain the word.

Having the cards makes learning games easier.

The Word, さん, San, Japanese / English Flashcard Craft and Language Journal Page

I am glad to share my flashcard and journal page for the number 3 in Japanese, さん. San. I hope it is helpful and that you can use it.

WHAT THIS IS

I find that flashcards help me learn, so I make these projects to help to learn new Japanese words. The top portion is a page for a language journal. I make notes all over the border and on the space for practice writing. The flashcard is at the bottom, and when I color and decorate the words, it helps me learn them.

WHY I MAKE THESE

I am trying to learn new words, but it is very hard at my age, so I make these to help me remember the words. I find that if I use the flashcards a few times a day, it helps me learn the word.

SOME INSTRUCTIONS

After you print the page below, color the words. Then cut out the bottom sections. Next, glue them back to back, so they make a flashcard for the words. If your paper is too lightweight, then sandwich the two sides between a third sheet or a piece of heavier cardstock.
The top part can be used for a language journal. You just can add it to others. Use brass roundhead push-through fasteners to hold them together.

PRINT THE FILE BELOW

Sometimes people have problems printing these pictures, and if you are one, CLICK HERE for the  HOW TO PRINT page to get some suggestions that may help. There is another file in PDF format below that you can try. Sometimes it works better.

CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION

I make these for you for free. So print as many as you like, but please make a small contribution of support. Please click HERE TO DONATE THROUGH PAYPAL.  Even a small gift will help me, and then I can create more printables like this for you.

Thank you.

Free Print And Color Flashcard for Miru, 見る, The Japanese Word for, To See

Here is my print and color flashcard for the Japanese word for miru, 見る which is in English means "see or look at." I hope that you can use it and that it helps you.

WHAT THIS IS

This free printable coloring project below has two parts. One is the cut-outs at the bottom for the front and back of a flashcard that can be colored and glued together. You can use it to help to learn the word, "Miru." The top part of the printable is a language journal page that can be added to others to make a kind of vocabulary book. The letters are open and bold outline so you can color them. and there is an area for notes or writing a practice sentence.

I AM JUST A GUY

I am not a language teacher or even a college graduate. I found out that people who continue to learn throughout life are less likely to suffer cognitive problems as they age. Now I'm over 65 and I always wanted to learn a second language so I randomly picked up a set of language CDs at the library to use. But, my old brain is not taking it in very well. I have begun to look for more creative things to do to add to my learning process. Making these worksheets and flashcards gives another level to my learning. I am very visual, so seeing it helps.

The process of coloring the letters in with pencils further reinforces the language learning process.

I HOPE YOU CAN USE THESE

I think parents and teachers will find this free-to-print coloring page helpful. It is ideal for any children's learning situation. Home School. Language Club. Self-study. Classroom. ESL, (English as a second language) class. Use it when kids need a quiet activity. Coloring the words helps you learn the word.

I find if I take a few minutes each day and just review them by reading the words out loud and trying say them in a practice sentence it helps me to retain the word.

Japanese / English Flashcard for the Word, 桜 Sakura / Cherry Blossoms

Here is a free print and color flashcard for the Japanese word, 桜, Sakura,  Cherry blossoms in English.

WHY I MAKE THESE FLASHCARDS

I create these cards to help me personally to learn vocabulary in languages I am interested in. I feel, at least for me, it helps to retain a word when you use it in a project. I am a visual learner and find seeing something over and over helps me to learn it.

WHY THIS WORD?

I like music and so I listen to songs in the languages that interest me. Since I grew up in the 60s I like classic rock style and found a Japanese band called SCANDAL that plays a nice classic rock style, (in fact I think they have improved the genre). One of their songs that I like is called DEPARTURE, but I do not understand the words, so I thought I will take some time and learn the specific words to those songs and I will enjoy them more and become more confident in the language.  The word, Sakura, is the first word in the song.

HOW TO USE THE PRINTABLE

Print the image file below and color the bubble letters. After you color them then cut the bottom section out and glue the two haves back to back for the flashcard. The top portion is to use with others by combining them together to make your own personal language journal.

HOW TO PRINT

The file below is a JPEG and should print on most devices. If you have problems see the HOW TO PRINT tab for some suggestions. There is a file in PDF below which works on most devices.
